It is said that we often meet our destiny on the path we take to avoid it - how true that would be for Mira Ashvane. Growing up in Kettlemoor, a backwater port town that always smelled of that day's catch, should have been a lovely if uneventful existence. But for Mira and her Father, the peering eyes of their neighbours would follow them like a shadow wherever they went. Every now and again, when Mira would meet their gaze, they would swiftly avert their eyes elsewhere — sideways, quickly, away.

Did they know even then, before her 13th birthday? A day that should have been filled with celebration & laughter, turned to fear and ash as Mira nearly burnt down her Father's hut - accidentally causing the candles upon her birthday cake to flare with great heat and light, scorching the beams of the roof and filling her heart with fear. Neither Mira or her Father spoke of it again - desperate for the knowing whispers of their neighbours to be wrong; for both of them to hide a secret neither one fully understands. But after so long - silence must give way to questions: how came Mira by this power, why do the people of Kettlemoor view her and her father with such suspicion, and could this have anything to do with her Mother - lost so long ago at sea?  This is the wound she carries: not her newly-discovered magical abilities, but the harsh lesson it taught her. That sometimes the most dangerous thing about us is not the secrets we keep, but the secrets that are kept from us...

Tales of the Fable Engine have begun to spread...

★★★★★

“My campaign kit took away the anxiety of running session after session of my homebrewed campaign. And the BBEG's arc genuinely surprised me in the best way!”

James T. · Dungeon Master, Sydney
★★★★★

“My character’s backstory made me tear up a bit when I first went through it. The GM has been (too) happily pulling threads from it all campaign. The other players keep asking how I came up with it lol”

Kat M. · Player, Melbourne
★★★★★

“The NPC roster alone was worth the price! Three of them even became party favourites and one got adopted (like Boblin). It was so handy to refer back to whenever the party went back to town just to get into drinking competitions with the Innkeeper”

Dev R. · Dungeon Master, Brisbane

Questions

Everything you need to know about the Fable Engine

Is this written by a human GM? +

Yep! Every piece is written, structured, and reviewed by an actual GM with 8+ years of experience running both Adventures as written, and fully Homebrewed multi-year campaings!  The judgment of the Fable Engine — what works, what inspires, what players will actually engage with and be drawn in by — comes from me :)

What system do you write for? +

Primarily D&D 5e, but the narrative elements work equally well for Pathfinder 2e, Draw Steel, and most other TTRPGs. Just mention your system in the brief.

What if I’m not satisfied? +

Full and Deluxe packages include a revision round. Bespoke campaigns have unlimited revisions for two weeks. If I genuinely cannot produce something that works for your table, I offer a full refund.

Can you write for homebrew worlds? +

Yes — and homebrew is where the work gets most interesting! The intake form has a full worldbuilding section - the more lore and ideas you share, the more precisely we integrate the order (or chaos) into your world of choice

How do I receive my finished order? +

Output arrives as a formatted Google Doc within the timeframe shown for your package. Full and Bespoke packages also include a short Loom walkthrough explaining how to use the material.
